New York City, New York — Darren Criss and Renée Elise Goldsberry will co-host “The Tony Awards: Act One,” a live pre-show streaming on Pluto TV. The event takes place on Sunday, June 8, from 6:40 to 8 p.m. ET.

Criss, nominated for his leading role in the musical “Maybe Happy Ending,” and Goldsberry, a Tony Award winner known for her role in “Hamilton,” will guide viewers through the evening’s festivities. Goldsberry last won a Tony in 2016 for her performance as Angelica Schuyler and is releasing her debut album, “Who I Really Am,” just two days before the ceremony.

Immediately following the pre-show, the 78th Annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS from 8 to 11 p.m. ET, hosted by Cynthia Erivo. This year’s ceremony marks a return to Radio City Music Hall after three years at Lincoln Center.

This year, 21 musicals and plays are nominated for Tony Awards, with “Buena Vista Social Club” and “Maybe Happy Ending” each leading with ten nominations. The show is produced by Tony Award Productions and White Cherry Entertainment, with Glenn Weiss returning as director.

This is an exciting year for the Tony Awards, bringing together Broadway’s finest as they celebrate the best of theater.
