NEW YORK, N.Y. — David Blaine, the world-renowned magician and endurance artist, embarks on a globe-trotting adventure in his latest series, “David Blaine Do Not Attempt,” airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on National Geographic. The six-part documentary takes viewers through 11 countries across five continents, showcasing extraordinary feats of magic combined with mental and physical endurance.

Filmed over three years, the series features Blaine immersing himself in various cultures while exploring hidden rituals and astonishing talents. From being covered in 59 scorpions to attempting dangerous stunts with some of the world’s deadliest snakes, Blaine experiences breathtaking acts of human skill and courage.

In a recent interview, Blaine shared his motivation for creating a show that captures the intersection of magic and culture. “As a young magician, I was fascinated by performers whose acts were so extraordinary that they almost felt like fiction,” he said. “These individuals trained for thousands of hours with passion, discipline, and pain to create something magical.”

Blaine highlights skills that go beyond traditional magic, learning from local talents in various regions. “In India, I discovered the spiritual discipline of sadhus and gurus; in Brazil, I was drawn to the intensity and celebration present in their performances. Each culture has its own approach that shapes the magic,” he explained.

Regarding the challenges presented in the series, Blaine stated, “I was constantly being challenged, which took me out of my comfort zone and changed my perspective in new ways.” He reflected on some of the more nerve-wracking moments, particularly his encounters with snakes, saying, “Those made me the most nervous. I usually have more control, but this was very different for me.”

“National Geographic was the perfect partner for this project,” Blaine said, emphasizing the network’s dedication to bringing his vision to life. Their support enabled Blaine and his team to experiment and improve the series throughout production.

“David Blaine Do Not Attempt” not only airs on National Geographic but is also available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. Blaine believes his long-standing collaboration with Disney has allowed him the creative freedom to explore magic in unique ways. “Working with Disney throughout my career, starting with ’David Blaine: Street Magic,’ has been invaluable,” he noted.

This series promises to captivate audiences with its blend of stunning visuals, cultural exploration, and the art of magic, expanding what viewers know about human potential.
