David Blaine Magician Performance Tattoo

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Magician David Blaine is back in the spotlight after extending his Las Vegas residency and starring in National Geographic’s new series, *David Blaine Do Not Attempt.* In an interview with PEOPLE, Blaine shared intriguing details about his life, magic, and even a peculiar tattoo.

During the chat, the 52-year-old performer revealed that he recently got a tattoo using disappearing ink from a talented artist in New York City. ‘I made a playing card prediction. And I haven’t used it yet. As a matter of fact, I even forgot that I did it because it’s invisible,’ Blaine explained. The tattoo can only be revealed under certain lighting, making it a fittingly magical addition to his repertoire.

‘You just reminded me that I have this tattoo on my left wrist because it’s invisible,’ he added, laughing. It’s amusing how Blaine, a master magician known for his mind-bending tricks, can share a story about an invisible tattoo that slipped his mind.

In addition to discussing his tattoo, Blaine opened up about other ‘lasts’ in his life during the interview. He recalled the last time he sang, admitting, ‘I sang “Happy Birthday” to somebody onstage in my show, but I’m a terrible singer.’ He mentioned how he enjoys singing amusing songs like ‘Jolene’ to make his daughter, Dessa, 14, laugh.

Blaine also chuckled about his last indulgence, stating, ‘I’m allergic to dairy, but I live half of the year in Paris, so I’m always eating my favorite cheese. But then I’m always sneezing and itching my eyes afterward.’

Regarding self-care, he said, ‘I go to the gym and sit in the sauna for as long as possible. I’ve stayed in there a few hours. Before I throw water on the coals, I say really annoying jokes like, “Are you okay if I put some jalapeños on that salad?” And nobody laughs.’

On the magic front, Blaine recounted his recent performances, stating, ‘I was at rehearsal for Jimmy Kimmel and ended up doing magic for the entire staff. And on the airplane here, same thing. I was doing magic for everybody working on the plane and all the people in line for the bathroom.’

He remarked that performing has become a daily routine, noting, ‘I fall asleep with a deck of cards in my hands and wake up with cards stuck to my face and body almost every day.’

With his latest series now streaming on Nat Geo, Blaine continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of magic and personal anecdotes. ‘David Blaine Do Not Attempt’ promises to be as thrilling as his live performances.
