David Corenswet, the latest actor to don the cape as Superman, has been spotted filming in Cleveland for the upcoming movie set to be released next summer.

Corenswet, known for his roles in projects such as ‘The Politician’ and ‘House of Cards’, graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City.

Joining him in the movie is Rachel Brosnahan, famous for her role in ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘, who will portray the iconic character Lois Lane.

Director Ethan Gray, also the CEO of DC Studios, praised both Corenswet and Brosnahan as incredible actors and wonderful people.

The filming of the movie in Cleveland kicked off this week with the city’s streets transforming into the bustling Daily Planet set, with the Residences at Leader apartment complex standing in as the news organization’s headquarters.

Corenswet made his debut as Superman on set by dramatically revealing the red-and-blue costume after shedding his black cloak, while Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Wendall Pierce as Perry White were later spotted filming scenes.

In an effort to enhance authenticity, filmmakers are seeking real police officers to serve as extras in the film, with casting agency Angela Boehm Casting putting out a call for officers to participate in scenes in Cincinnati.

Genesis‘, the working title of the film, is set to film in Cincinnati from June 17 to July 18, with specific dates for police extras’ involvement listed for June and July.
