LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12, 2025 — Bend Studio announced that the remastered version of its popular action-adventure game, Days Gone, will be released for PlayStation 5 on April 25, 2025. This highly anticipated remaster aims to enhance graphics and introduce new gameplay features for both new and returning players.
In a statement from Bend Studio’s Community Manager, the announcement came during Sony’s State of Play, showcasing improvements made possible by the PS5 hardware. “Days Gone has given us a lot of joy, and we’ve worked tirelessly with our partners at Climax Studios to ensure this remaster is the definitive way to experience the game,” the statement read.
The remaster features significant graphical enhancements, including improved lighting, increased foliage draw distance, and support for the Tempest 3D Audio technology. Players can choose between Quality mode for higher resolution or Performance mode for smoother framerates. Bend Studio emphasized that the game will take full advantage of the PS5’s DualSense controller, allowing players to feel environmental effects like rain or the rumble of their motorcycle’s engine through haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Accessibility features are a key focus for the remastered version, expanding options available to players. Some of the new settings include High Contrast mode, Game Speed adjustments, UI Narration, and a Field of View slider. “Accessibility is important to us, and we want to ensure that more players can experience the world of Days Gone,” the Community Manager stated.
In addition to enhanced visuals and accessibility, Days Gone Remastered introduces fresh gameplay modes, including Horde Assault. This new mode challenges players to survive against increased enemy hordes, offering a high-score gameplay experience. Players can traverse various environments from the original game, such as the Cascade and Lost Lake regions, but must prepare to face escalating difficulties.
For players looking for a significant challenge, the new Permadeath mode tests gamers’ skills by requiring them to complete the game in a single playthrough without dying. Unfortunate players will need to restart from a designated checkpoint if they fall, rewarding those who conquer this feature with special in-game achievements and a PlayStation Trophy.
An exciting Speedrun mode will also be included, urging players to complete the game’s story as swiftly as possible. Players can share their best times on social media, spurring friendly competition within the community.
Days Gone Remastered will only be available digitally, priced at $49.99. Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the remaster for $10. Pre-orders starting from tomorrow will offer players eight new PSN Avatars featuring fan-favorite characters and five early unlocks to ease initial gameplay.
PC players will not be left behind, as Bend Studio confirmed that all new content will also release for Days Gone on Steam and the Epic Games Store on the same date, including the Broken Road DLC.
Bend Studio is committed to enhancing player experiences while honoring the roots of Days Gone, a title that has worked its way into the hearts of many gamers. As the April 25 launch date approaches, fans eagerly await more details and gameplay previews.
