Deanna Stagliano Stephen Stagliano Domestic Violence

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Reality star DeAnna Stagliano is embroiled in a contentious legal battle with her ex-husband, Stephen Stagliano, following an altercation that led to her brief incarceration.

On February 27, 2024, DeAnna was arrested on misdemeanor charges after an incident that she claims was fueled by false accusations made by Stephen. The couple, who finalized their divorce in June 2024 after 11 years of marriage, now face serious allegations that have prompted DeAnna to seek a restraining order against him.

According to court documents, the altercation occurred when Stephen arrived to pick up their daughter. DeAnna alleges that he accused her of being drunk, stating, “Stephen told me I needed to walk closer to him because he wanted to smell my breath to make sure that I was not drunk. I had not consumed any alcohol.”

In a declaration filed by Lynn Stagliano, Stephen’s mother, she claimed to have smelled alcohol on DeAnna’s breath during a visit to help get their child to school, stating, “I very clearly smelled alcohol on DeAnna’s breath. I put Austin in the car and left.”

DeAnna has firmly denied the allegations of alcoholism and filed a document opposing an ex parte application submitted by Stephen, which she claims is based on misleading narratives. “The basis…is based on his fabrication that I am an alcoholic,” she emphasized. “This is wholly false and fabricated as way for [Stephen] to gain leverage in his attempt to alienate the children from me.”

In her legal filings, DeAnna accuses Stephen of coaching their daughter to “literally sniff out alcohol and to alienate her from me by making her believe that I am an alcoholic.”

DeAnna also recounts the moment when the physical altercation reportedly took place, saying, “I heard noise behind me. I turned around to see Stephen following me into my garage.” She described how he allegedly forcefully pushed her, prompting her to lock herself inside where she awaited police arrival.

Law enforcement, responding to a call from Stephen, arrived and were reportedly informed that he had pressed charges of domestic violence against DeAnna. “Stephen had told the Sheriff that I was the aggressor who assaulted him, which was false,” she stated. “At no time was I requested to test for alcohol despite Stephen’s allegations.”

Despite the allegations, DeAnna indicated that she took it upon herself to undergo drug testing after being released on a $20,000 bond, testing negative for any substances.

In her petition for a restraining order, DeAnna requested that Stephen be ordered to maintain a distance of 100 yards from her. A hearing for this request has been set for later this month.

In an agreement related to their divorce, both parents had previously consented to share joint custody of their two children, as well as not consuming alcohol or narcotics around the kids.

DeAnna, who gained fame as a contestant on season 11 of The Bachelor and later starred on season 4 of The Bachelorette, filed for divorce in January 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The documentation from her filing indicated that their separation date coincided with the filing date.

Throughout the difficult process, DeAnna has expressed her commitment to co-parenting, stating, “We remain loving parents to our beautiful children and will continue to raise them together with love and faith.”

In an outreach for comments from Stephen’s lawyer, there were no responses prior to publication.
