Debbie Rowe Spotted in Rare Public Appearance Amid New Jackson Documentary

PALMDALE, California — Debbie Rowe, the ex-wife of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, was spotted on Monday during a rare public outing in Palmdale, California. The 66-year-old was seen running errands, marking a notable appearance following years of relative anonymity since her high-profile divorce from Jackson in 2000.
Rowe looked noticeably different, dressed in a blue button-up shirt and light blue jeans, complemented by white sneakers. Sporting dark sunglasses and shoulder-length blonde hair with bangs, she was captured cashing a check before driving off in her custom-built $200,000 Range Rover Vogue.
Rowe has largely maintained a private life since her marriage to Michael Jackson, which lasted from 1996 until their divorce in 1999. She shares two children with the King of Pop: Prince Michael Jackson, 28, and Paris Jackson, 27. The couple also has a younger son, Bigi, born in 2002 via surrogate, who was not mothered by Rowe.
Rowe’s public appearance comes in the wake of the recent release of “Leaving Neverland 2: Surviving Michael Jackson,” a sequel to the controversial 2019 documentary that examined allegations of sexual abuse against Jackson, who died in 2009. While Rowe has maintained a low profile, her outing has drawn attention amid renewed discussions surrounding Jackson’s legacy.
In a previous interview, Paris Jackson revealed that her relationship with Rowe is more akin to a friendship. On an episode of Red Table Talk, she described their bond as “cool” and “very chill,” emphasizing the similarities they share, particularly in their taste in music, which includes country and folk genres.
Reflecting on her time with Jackson, Rowe has publicly expressed her regret regarding the circumstances surrounding his death from an accidental drug overdose, stating in a past interview, “I should have done something and I didn’t.” She has acknowledged her role in Michael’s life, stating that, alongside other influential figures, she feels partially responsible for not intervening when he struggled with addiction.
Rowe first met Jackson through her role as a dermatology assistant to Dr. Arnold Klein, who provided treatment for Jackson’s skin condition. Their relationship transitioned from friendship to marriage in 1996 during a secretive ceremony in Sydney, Australia.
Despite the complexities of their relationship, and Rowe’s decision to give Jackson full custody of their children post-divorce, she has worked to reconnect with them over the years. In 2016, she bravely faced her own health challenges, being diagnosed with breast cancer, from which she has since recovered.
Debbie Rowe’s reemergence into the public eye has sparked conversations about her past, her relationship with Michael Jackson, and how their family dynamics have evolved, particularly with their children.
