Deftones Celebrate Sales Surge with Re-release of B-Sides and Rarities
As fans eagerly await new music from Deftones, the renowned rock band has delighted them by re-releasing their B-Sides and Rarities compilation. This reissue has rekindled interest and led to significant sales, despite the absence of new tracks.
In a recent tracking week, B-Sides and Rarities sold over 2,700 copies in the United States. According to Luminate, these figures are a stark improvement compared to the sales of just over 20 copies in the previous week. This dramatic increase highlights the impact of re-releasing older music, which can often breathe new life into previously overlooked titles.
The band recently made available physical copies of B-Sides and Rarities, prompting a surge in interest among their dedicated followers. Despite the digital era dominated by downloads and streaming, physical music formats like CDs and vinyl have witnessed a resurgence in popularity. Re-releases of this nature have become a staple strategy in today’s music industry.
The compilation, first released in the fall of 2005, features tracks recorded by Deftones between 1995 and its release year. It includes previously shared B-sides and rare cuts that were not widely available before. This re-release is available on both CD and double vinyl. Although Luminate does not provide detailed sales figures by format, the overall enthusiasm among Deftones fans in the U.S. is evident.
B-Sides and Rarities has made notable chart achievements this week. It re-enters the Top Album Sales on Billboard‘s list, securing the 32nd position. Additionally, it debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, landing at number 18.
