Delta Air Lines Community Engagement Initiatives

ATLANTA, GA — Delta Air Lines has been named an honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light for the eighth consecutive year, recognizing it as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the United States. This year, Delta also secured its place as the Industrials Sector Leader, marking its third year in a row holding this title, and it remains the only commercial airline included on the prestigious list.

The company received high marks in the Integration category, which reflects its commitment to embedding community engagement throughout its operations. This includes its culture, employee involvement, partnerships, and business strategies.

In April, Delta employees from around the world participated in over 100 volunteer events to commemorate 100 years of flight, showcasing the airline’s dedication to community service. “Delta Air Lines is honored to be recognized as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S. by Points of Light for the eighth year in a row,” said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director of Community Engagement at Delta. “For 100 years, we have strived to meaningfully impact the communities where we live, work, and serve.”

The Civic 50 program, now in its thirteenth year, serves as a benchmark for corporate social responsibility and civic engagement. It identifies companies with a minimum of $1 billion in annual U.S. revenue, evaluating their corporate citizenship across four key dimensions: resource investment, integration, institutionalization, and impact measurement.

“In an ever-evolving landscape, companies are looking to meet the needs of their communities, customers, and stakeholders,” said Jennifer Sirangelo, president and CEO of Points of Light. “Companies like Delta Air Lines lead the way in showing how social impact benefits their employees and strengthens communities. Their efforts are a model for others.”

The Civic 50 survey, administered by True Impact, is the only ranking system that focuses exclusively on corporate community engagement, using a rigorous, data-driven approach. To view the full report and see all 2025 honorees, visit the Points of Light website.
