Denilson Igwe Reveals Fallout with Mark Angel Over Money Issues

Popular comedian and skit maker, Denilson Igwe, has shared some shocking details about his split from fellow comedian Mark Angel. In a sneak peek from the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Denilson hinted that he left Mark because he felt cheated, alongside the rest of the crew.

Denilson revealed that he was instrumental in starting Mark Angel Comedy and was the one behind the camera capturing all the early content that Mark posted on Facebook. However, he didn’t have a clue when the Facebook page started making money.

According to him, Mark didn’t share any of the earnings with him until 2016 when he was given a paltry N50,000 shortly after Mark bought a new car for himself. Denilson also claimed that while he was working hard behind the scenes, Mark was paying their co-star Emmanuella just N20,000 a month, despite the fact that they were reportedly making around $160,000 monthly from the Facebook revenue.

Denilson recounted, “I was the one that started Mark Angel Comedy. I’m an orphan. Mark was like the elder brother. He used to work as a security guard at Kilimanjaro in Port Harcourt. I learned camera work from a guy named Ifeanyi and would often shoot comedy videos during our free time.”

He expressed his disbelief when Mark bought a car back in 2014 and told him it was a gift. Denilson stated he never received any financial support from the comedy group, which made the revelations even more painful. 2016 was the first time Mark acknowledged the money made and handed him a small amount, claiming that the comedy wasn’t generating revenue.

As of now, Mark Angel has not publicly responded to Denilson’s claims.
