Dexter Returns in Exciting New Series ‘Dexter: Resurrection’

NEW YORK, NY — Michael C. Hall is reprising his role as Dexter Morgan in the upcoming series, ‘Dexter: Resurrection,’ set to premiere on July 11 on Paramount+ with Showtime. This revival follows the events of the previous show, ‘Dexter: New Blood,’ and fans are eagerly anticipating what this new chapter holds for the beloved character.
The first two episodes will be available for streaming on July 11, with a traditional airing scheduled for July 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The newly released trailer hints at a close connection to the last sequel series, teasing a storyline that revolves around Dexter’s quest to reunite with his son, Harrison, who is missing.
“There’s a whole cast of characters that populate his wider world and have the potential to re-emerge,” Hall said in an interview. Alongside Hall, David Zayas will return as Angel Batista, and James Remar steps back into the role of Harry Morgan. Jack Alcott will also reprise his role as Harrison Morgan.
The series will introduce familiar faces such as Peter Dinklage, who plays Leon Prater, a billionaire obsessed with serial killers, and Uma Thurman as Charley, Prater’s head of security. Additionally, Eric Stonestreet joins as Al, a seemingly ordinary man harboring dark secrets.
The drama unfolds as Dexter struggles with the consequences of his past while navigating the complexities of fatherhood and the dangers of New York City. The official description states, ‘When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast.’
Dramatic moments surface when Dexter confronts his dark history and faces familial ties. After undergoing a miraculous revival from a gunshot wound—a scene seen in the previous series—Dexter resolves to find his son.
‘Dexter: Resurrection’ promises to tackle themes of legacy, guilt, and the cyclical nature of violence, raising questions about whether darkness can skip a generation or if it simply takes on a new form. Fans are curiously waiting to see how the series marries old dynamics with the new challenges facing Dexter and Harrison.
The excitement builds as the premiere date approaches, leading many to wonder if ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ will satisfy long-time viewers. Stay tuned for more updates as the new series draws closer to its debut.
