Disney Cruise Line Deposit Change

CELEBRATION, Fla. — Beginning today, June 18, 2025, Disney Cruise Line is reducing the required deposit for new reservations from 20% to 10% of the voyage fare. This change is aimed at making it more affordable for guests to book future sailings.

Existing reservations made by June 17, 2025, will still follow the original policy, requiring a 20% deposit as per the terms agreed at the time of booking.

With the new deposit policy, changes are also being made to cancellation fees. For reservations canceled during the deposit cancellation fee period, the fee will be 10% of the voyage fare for those who paid a 10% deposit. Meanwhile, cancellations from guests who paid the previous 20% deposit will incur a 20% fee.

Guests interested in taking advantage of the new deposit rate can modify their existing bookings. However, standard cancellation fees may apply depending on the timing of the cancellation.

Additionally, changes have been made for those with Onboard Placeholder Offers. When adding a sail date to a reservation of seven nights or longer, guests will now pay only a 5% deposit. The cancellation fee for these reservations will also be 5% if canceled properly.

This adjustment is part of Disney’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer experiences and make vacations more accessible.
