Viewers of the Disney+ series “Agatha All Along” were finally given a major reveal in the latest episode, “Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power.” The long-speculated character played by “Heartstopper” star Joe Locke has been confirmed to be Wiccan, a significant figure from Marvel Comics.

The storyline unfolds rapidly with dramatic plot twists. Agatha, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn, becomes possessed by her mother’s ghost during a mystical trial reminiscent of 1980s horror films. A character referred to as “Teen” intervenes in a critical moment by invoking the name of Agatha’s deceased child, causing Agatha’s magic to falter, ultimately leading to the death of Alice (Ali Ahn) as Agatha absorbs her powers.

In a heated exchange, Teen accuses Agatha of power-hungry motives, echoing themes of witchcraft and self-interest. This portrays a significant narrative pivot as Agatha compares Teen to his mother, later identified as Wanda Maximoff, connecting him to the character Billy, known in the comics as Wiccan.

In a subsequent twist, Teen’s hands are shown to emit blue magic, marking a transition where Jennifer (Sasheer Zamata) and Lilia (Patti LuPone) help subdue Agatha. This scene ends with a mysterious transformation as Teen takes on a regal appearance, reminiscent of Wanda’s Scarlet Witch persona.

The reveal raises questions regarding Billy’s magical abilities and origins. Was his concealed identity intentional, and do his adoptive parents, played by Paul Adelstein and Maria Dizzia, know his true lineage? The episode hints at deeper connections to the Marvel lore, suggesting complex magical metaphysics.

This development is especially significant for fans of the MCU‘s evolving representation. Billy is a notable LGBTQ character whose role suggests a more central involvement than previous portrayals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
