Dockers Look to Maintain Winning Streak Against Struggling Tigers at the MCG

RICHMOND is hunting its second win of the season when it hosts Fremantle to the MCG in the first of three games on Sunday.

The Tigers (1-6) have continued to battle hard without quite getting their just reward on the scoreboard, especially when on their home turf at the MCG.

The injury-ravaged Tigers will have to call on yet more reinforcements as they look to prove that they can still compete with clubs hovering around the middle of the ladder, even while gradually refreshing their own side.

Fremantle (4-3) might have suffered the wake-up call it needed two rounds ago when it was smashed by West Coast.

Richmond: Kamdyn McIntosh

Fremantle: Nat Fyfe

The Dockers released the shackles to bounce back from their Western Derby defeat with a victory over the Western Bulldogs, but now need to show it was more than just a one-off.

They should be boosted by the fact they have won three of their past five matches at the MCG.

The Tigers regain Jayden Short and Tyler Sonsie to replace the injured duo Jacob Hopper and Jack Graham, while Docker Jye Amiss is a straight swap for first-gamer Patrick Voss.

The Western Bulldogs welcome the one-win Hawthorn to Marvel Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (3-4) continued their rollercoaster ride of a season with a defeat on the road to Fremantle last round but can get their campaign back on track and even their win-loss record with a win against the Hawks.

Hawthorn (1-6) has shown small glimpses of what it produced during a promising campaign last year but the heavy defeats are starting to mount up.

The Hawks paid the price for wayward kicking at goal in their loss to the Swans but should be just as concerned by their lack of intensity across matches after winning the tackle count only once this season.

Both teams have made plenty of changes, with Hawthorn adding exciting first-year forward Nick Watson, Massimo D’Ambrosio, Josh Ward, and debutant Calsher Dear in place of Mabior Chol, Jai Serong, Seamus Mitchell, and Max Ramsden.

The Dogs have dropped Caleb Daniel and Rory Lobb again, with Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Tom Liberatore joining Oskar Baker and debutant Charlie Clarke as inclusions.

Brisbane and Gold Coast lock horns in a highly-anticipated QClash on Sunday night at the Gabba.

The Suns snapped a nine-game losing streak against their Queensland foes late last season, ambushing the Lions by 41 points, and enter this encounter full of belief.

Brisbane is floundering at 2-5 after a heavy defeat from Greater Western Sydney, while Gold Coast has surged to the edge of the eight with a 4-3 record.

The Lions are running out of time to turn their season around, especially with their injury-hit midfield failing to have its usual impact, but a QClash on their home deck is just the occasion to kickstart their season.

While they may have got the chocolates in their last encounter, the Suns have been thumped by an average of 49 points in their past five meetings with the Lions at the Gabba and are winless from three matches away from home this year.

Oscar McInerney returns in a welcoming boost for the struggling Lions alongside Harry Sharp and debutant Bruce Reville, while the Suns regain young gun Ethan Read and Ben Long in place of Bailey Humphrey and Sam Day.
