Dolly Parton Health Update Video

Nashville, TN — Country music icon Dolly Parton addressed concerns about her health Wednesday, reassuring fans that she is doing better than some believe. In a video shared on social media, the 79-year-old singer said, “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!”

Parton explained that she wanted to put minds at ease after her sister, Freida Parton, called for prayer warriors for Dolly in a recent Facebook post. Freida wrote about being up all night in prayer for her sister, who has been experiencing health challenges.

In the video recorded on October 8, Parton recognized that many fans are worried about her well-being. She assured them, “I’m OK,” and admitted that while she has some issues to handle, they are not severe. “Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home,” she said.

Parton shared that her health has been impacted since the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, earlier this year. She noted, “When he passed, I didn’t take care of myself, so I let a lot of things go that should’ve been taken care of.”

Despite her recent struggles, she asserted, “I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God is through with me, and I ain’t done working.” Parton added that she was postponing several concerts scheduled for Caesars Palace in December to focus on her recovery.

Earlier, Parton announced she would delay her performances due to health problems and would be undergoing several procedures. Before the video, her manager confirmed that she was dealing with kidney stones and would be taking the necessary steps to resolve the issue.

In closing, Parton expressed her appreciation for her fans’ prayers and support, encouraging them to stay optimistic about her recovery. “I can always use the prayers for anything and everything,” she said.
