Dolly Parton Releases Deluxe Edition Of 'rockstar' Album For Birthday Celebration

Last fall, country music icon Dolly Parton surprised her fans with the release of her album Rockstar, a collection of rock covers and new tracks that became a major success. Now, as she celebrates her 78th birthday, Parton has gifted her fans with a deluxe edition of the album, adding nine new songs to the existing tracklist.

Parton took to social media to share the news, stating, “It’s my Birthday so I’m going to give you a present!” The new songs include her own tracks such as “Mama Never Said,” “Stay Out of My Bedroom,” and “Rockin’ It.” Additionally, Parton adds her own spin to well-known rock hits, including covers of Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise,” Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” Billy Joel’s “The Entertainer,” and the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).”

However, the highlight of this new deluxe edition is a duet version of Parton’s iconic hit “Jolene,” featuring Italian rock band Måneskin. This collaboration brings a fresh and exciting twist to the beloved track, offering fans a unique experience.

The original version of Rockstar was released in November 2023 and featured 30 songs. The album soared to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming Parton’s highest-ranking solo release to date. With the addition of these nine new songs, the deluxe edition now boasts a staggering 39 tracks, offering nearly three hours of rock-infused country music.
