LOS ANGELES, CA — Dominik Mysterio has openly expressed his disdain for WWE star CM Punk, tracing his animosity back to traumatic childhood experiences. During a recent interview with Sportskeeda, the 26-year-old wrestler did not hold back, stating, “I hate CM Punk. I hate CM Punk. He’s old. He disappeared for what, 30 years? Came back and he’s now 60 and still wrestling.”

Mysterio recounted that his negative feelings began in his early teen years when Punk was wrestling in feuds involving Mysterio’s father, Rey Mysterio. “He tortured me when I was a kid. I was 12 years old and he was probably 45 at the time, maybe 50. I don’t like CM Punk. He traumatized me as a kid. Who does that to a 12-year-old?” Mysterio asked.

The wrestler’s harsh words reflect the tension that has characterized his interactions with Punk since the latter’s return to WWE in 2023. Mysterio became Punk’s first opponent upon his comeback, a match that intensified their rivalry, which has included public exchanges of grievances.

During the same interview, Dominik Mysterio further elaborated on his complex feelings towards Punk, explaining, “So, like, I don’t know, what’s up — I can’t say that. I’m not gonna say that. But I don’t like CM Punk. He traumatized me as a kid. What’s wrong with him?”

In the wrestling community, Punk is known for his outspoken nature and controversial persona, which may have left a lasting impact on some younger wrestlers like Mysterio. Their conflict adds an additional layer of intrigue to the ongoing storylines in WWE.

This interview comes as Mysterio and fellow wrestler Liv Morgan appeared to promote WWE’s content moving to Netflix in India. Morgan also shared her dreams for WrestleMania but did not divulge specifics about future matches, keeping the focus on Mysterio’s fiery comments regarding Punk.

The evolving narratives in WWE continue to capture the attention of wrestling fans, with Mysterio’s revelations likely to spark discussions regarding the deeper emotional stakes in professional wrestling rivalries.
