Donny Osmond Celebrates Wife’s Birthday Amid Family Tragedy

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Donny Osmond honored his wife Debbie on her 66th birthday with a heartfelt tribute on social media, while simultaneously coping with the loss of his brother Wayne Osmond, who passed away at 73 from a massive stroke.
On February 26, the 67-year-old singer shared a series of photos capturing milestones from their 46-year marriage, including their wedding portrait. “You are the love of my life,” Donny wrote in a post celebrating Debbie’s special day. He praised her as the “cutest grandma ever” and described their relationship as “the best decision” he ever made.
Donny reflected on their journey together, stating, “Here are some of my personal pictures through the years with the birthday girl who captured my heart. Happy birthday, Debbie. I love you.” Their marriage, which began at the Salt Lake Temple in Utah on May 8, 1978, has produced five sons and 14 grandchildren.
Wayne Osmond’s death, confirmed by his brother Merrill in a Facebook post, has deeply affected the Osmond family. “My brother was a saint,” Merrill wrote on January 2. Wayne died the previous day in Salt Lake City after suffering a stroke.
In January, Donny expressed his sorrow over Wayne’s passing, saying, “Even though I know with certainty that I will see him again, there’s a vacancy in my heart that hurts.” He shared photos from their life together, acknowledging Wayne’s unwavering support throughout their lives.
Marie Osmond, Donny’s sister, also paid tribute to Wayne, expressing on Instagram that she felt a “giant hole in [her] heart” after his death. She highlighted Wayne’s deep love for his family, noting, “Wayne loved deeply, and he showered this love upon his beautiful wife, Kathy, whom he loved with all his heart, and his beautiful children and grandchildren.” Marie shared admiration for Wayne’s faith, stating he was an honorable member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and sought to illuminate others’ paths with his testimony of God’s plan.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Kathlyn White, and their five children.
