Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Unveils Sparking Episodes Features
“Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO,” a recently launched installment in the Dragon Ball video game series, introduces unique gameplay elements known as Sparking Episodes. These episodes are distinct from the main sagas of Dragon Ball Z and the Dragon Ball Super series, providing players with an opportunity to explore varied scenarios outside of the traditional storyline.
To engage with these Sparking Episodes, players must perform specific actions during encounters marked by a green crossroads symbol. The precise criteria for unlocking these episodes can be accessed through the Battle Details menu by pausing the game. These episodes typically challenge players to defeat adversaries in under three minutes, leveraging the Sparking mechanic activated by charging ki until the bar glows pink.
Notably, Sparking Episodes only meet all secondary clear conditions when played on the default battle difficulty, demanding a degree of skill from the players. The episodes allow for deviations from the primary storyline, offering thirteen opportunities categorized as Sparking Episodes.
The list of Sparking Episodes includes battling scenarios such as “Side by Side Goku,” where players must defeat Raditz quickly after choosing “Go it alone,” and “The Changing Future,” which involves defeating Cell without receiving a Solar Flare hit. Additional episodes focus on characters like Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Future Trunks, each with their unique narrative twists and unlock requirements.
For example, in “Inherited Pride,” Future Trunks requires players to perform certain actions against Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta, followed by choices between significant branching paths titled “Father or Teamwork?” Meanwhile, episodes like “Frieza Force Joins the Fray” require defeating major characters such as Goku and Vegeta rapidly, followed by completing strategic branches of Frieza’s Philosophy.
Players must first complete specific episodes, particularly those featuring Goku, to unlock subsequent episodes involving characters like Future Trunks and Jiren. This structured progression adds to the game’s immersive strategy.
The game, developed by Namco Bandai, is set for release on multiple platforms, with an official launch date of October 11, 2024. As anticipation builds, “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” promises to expand the Dragon Ball gaming universe, merging high-paced action with strategic decision-making.
