Drake Drops Explosive Diss Track ‘Family Matters’ Targeting Kendrick Lamar and Industry Figures
Renowned rapper Drake has sparked controversy in the music industry with the release of his latest diss track, ‘Family Matters’, taking aim at fellow artist Kendrick Lamar and several industry figures. The track, which features hard-hitting lyrics and multiple beat switches, has sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community.
Drake’s aggressive response comes after Kendrick Lamar’s recent diss tracks, ‘Euphoria’ and ‘6:16 in LA’, where Lamar targeted Drake with personal attacks. In ‘Family Matters’, Drake refrains claims of domestic abuse, infidelity, and ghostwriting, while also addressing Lamar’s wife, Allie, and allegations of a child with their bodyguard.
Before dropping the track, Drake teased its release on social media, posting memes and cryptic messages on Instagram. The accompanying music video, split into three parts, features Drake destroying a van reminiscent of Kendrick Lamar’s album ‘The Lance’s Quest’ and scenes at The Wagyu House in Toronto.
The diss track showcases Drake’s boldness, with references to Rihanna, TDE, and OVO, underscoring the intense rivalry between the two artists. Drake’s use of the word ‘nigga’ throughout the track is seen as a direct challenge to Kendrick Lamar.
Released exclusively on YouTube, ‘Family Matters’ is part of a trio of tracks dropped by Kendrick Lamar in a 24-hour period. Lamar set the stage with ‘Euphoria’ before Drake’s response, culminating in the dark track ‘Vengeance’.
