Drew Carey Seen with New Flame Amid Ex-Fiancée’s Tragic Legacy

LOS ANGELES — Five years after the tragic murder of his ex-fiancée, comedian Drew Carey was recently spotted sharing lunch with 37-year-old Niki Skyler at Swingers Diner on Thursday. The 66-year-old host of “The Price Is Right” appeared to enjoy a friendly outing without any public displays of affection.
Skyler, an adult film star, wore oversized black pants and a matching tank top, casually carrying a to-go container while chatting with Carey outside the restaurant. Clad in a plaid blue button-up shirt paired with black jeans and sneakers, Carey seemed in good spirits despite the circumstances surrounding his personal life.
Carey’s representative did not respond to a request for comment regarding the nature of their relationship. The comedian has previously stated he has chosen to keep his romantic life platonic after the devastating loss of his fiancée, Amie Harwick, who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse in February 2020.
In a past interview, Carey revealed the profound impact Harwick’s death has had on him. “I have women I go out with and spend time with, but it’s all platonic, and I don’t care about anything else. Amie’s death really affected everything,” he explained. “I think about her every day. Her death still affects me and my ideas about relationships and intimacy.”
The former couple began dating in 2016 but ended their relationship in late 2018. They were engaged by the time Harwick was killed at the age of 38, leading Carey to describe himself as feeling “like a widower.”
Pursehouse was convicted of first-degree murder in 2023 and is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Drew Carey, who has largely avoided the dating scene since the tragedy, seems to be taking tentative steps towards social interaction with Skyler, though he has not characterized his time with her as dating.
