PHOENIX, AZ – Adam Ramey, the lead vocalist and founding member of the rap-metal band Dropout Kings, has died at the age of 32. The band confirmed his death on May 20, 2025, sharing a heartfelt tribute on social media that highlighted Ramey’s influence on their music and lives.

“Life comes at you in ways you can never predict,” the band wrote. “With the heaviest hearts, we share that our brother, Adam Ramey, has passed away.” The statement acknowledged the joy of building their dreams together, while also alluding to the struggles Ramey faced with addiction.

A GoFundMe campaign launched by Ramey’s sister-in-law revealed that his death was ruled a suicide. The campaign aims to provide support for his wife, Jamie, and their 18-month-old son, Jude. The post stated, “On May 19, just five days before his 32nd birthday, we lost Adam to suicide after a long and painful battle with addiction.”

Ramey co-founded Dropout Kings in 2016 and remained a driving force behind the group throughout his career. He was featured on both of the band’s full-length albums: 2018’s AudioDope and 2023’s Riot Music.

“His passion, energy, and love for music shaped Dropout Kings and touched countless lives,” the band stated. They concluded their tribute with a personal farewell: “Thank you for everything, Chip. Rest in power, Adam. We’ll always love you, fam.”

Ramey’s final performance with Dropout Kings took place on February 8, 2024, at the Orpheum in Tampa, Florida. Despite his passing, the band had several scheduled live shows for May and August. Beyond his work with Dropout Kings, Ramey also operated a marketing company focused on artist promotion.
