Dua Lipa and Callum Turner Share Sweet Engagement Story

Los Angeles, California – Pop star Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner have shared a charming story about their engagement. In a recent interview, Turner, 35, recounted how the two first met before a mutual friend’s birthday party in January 2024.

According to Turner, the couple discovered they were both reading the same book, Trust by Hernán Díaz, while sitting next to each other. “I had just finished the first chapter and I told her, and she looked at me and said, ‘I just finished the first chapter too,’” he recalled. Turner described the moment as something out of a Hollywood movie.

“In the movie version of it, I look up to the sky and I’m like, ‘I hear you. I understand. The signs are loud, don’t worry.’ And that was really the first moment,” he said, reflecting on their connection.

The couple was often seen together throughout 2024, sparking romance rumors. Their relationship gained momentum during a date night at Sushi Park in Los Angeles later that January, and Lipa publicly confirmed their engagement earlier this year.

“Yeah, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting,” Lipa, 30, said in an interview. She expressed her happiness about their decision to grow old together, emphasizing the importance of friendship in their relationship.

Lipa further opened up about love and vulnerability, stating, “It’s a really inspiring thing. You find yourself so intensely falling all the time in the best way possible.” She added, “So it feels like I’m doing a disservice by not talking about it.”

The couple is enjoying their engagement without rushing toward wedding plans. Lipa admitted she has not imagined her ideal wedding but is now contemplating what her dress might look like. “I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me,” she remarked about her engagement ring.

As for starting a family, Lipa noted that she loves children but is thinking about how fitting parenting into her career would work. “I think it’s just one of those things that’s going to happen when it happens,” she said.
