Dune: Awakening Beta Reports Over 8 Million Liters of Blood Extracted

Oslo, Norway – Funcom has released statistics from the Dune: Awakening beta event that ran over the weekend, revealing significant gameplay dynamics. Players engaged in intense combat, extracting a staggering 8,715,331 liters of blood from defeated enemies during the four-day test.
To put this figure into perspective, the amount of blood collected could fill three Olympic-sized swimming pools, although the Olympics are far from the arid sands of Arrakis. Funcom’s statistics indicate that players consumed 151,749 liters of water during the beta, equivalent to around two residential swimming pools.
In Frank Herbert‘s Dune universe, water is a precious resource, with Fremen depicting immense underground reservoirs supposedly holding more than 38 million decaliters of water spread across the planet.
Players met their demise in various ways during the beta. A total of 107,959 players were claimed by sandworms, while 65,000 “withered away in the sun,” likely due to dehydration. Furthermore, sandstorms took just over 10,000 lives during the event.
Players also showcased their combat prowess, taking down nearly 10 million scavengers. They deployed 1.7 million turrets and executed 2.6 million swordmaster knee charges, a favored melee maneuver. However, the most frequently used ability was the shigawire claw, which saw 8.4 million uses. This grappling hook allows players to ascend walls and stagger opponents, contributing to the vibrant dynamics of combat.
The Dune: Awakening beta was a significant success, showcasing the engaging mechanics of this survival MMO set to launch on June 10. Players can look forward to more exciting developments ahead.
