EastEnders: Tensions Rise Between the Panesars and the Mitchells
Aaron Thiara, who portrays Ravi Gulati on the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders, has revealed details about an intense storyline set to unfold. This upcoming narrative involves Ravi making false assumptions about his daughter Avani‘s relationship, leading to a heated conflict with the Mitchell family.
During next week’s episodes, Ravi confiscates Avani’s phone, suspecting that she is involved romantically with a boy named Barney. However, unaware of the real situation, he fails to realize that Avani is upset for other reasons. This misunderstanding escalates when Ravi targets Barney, only to find himself in a confrontation with Barney’s father, Teddy Mitchell.
“Ravi is pretty street smart, so his instincts immediately make him think it’s something else,” Thiara stated, highlighting his character’s protective nature. Despite Priya, Avani’s confidante, advising Ravi against confiscating the phone, he presses on due to his suspicions.
The plot thickens as Avani returns home visibly upset, triggering Ravi’s “complete and utter heartbreak.” Driven by the need to comfort his daughter, he aggressively seeks Barney’s confession, whom he mistakenly believes is withholding the truth, further causing tensions to rise between the Panesars and the Mitchells.
Aaron Thiara expressed his enthusiasm about the storyline, noting, “What I was excited about, and what I hope the fans will get excited about, is that we’re finally going to see the Panesars go against the Mitchells.” He portrayed Ravi as a character who might forgive but does not forget, hinting this conflict is far from resolved.
This storyline is set against the backdrop of broader tensions in Walford, with other characters embroiled in their dramas. Kat Slater tries to conceal injuries and tensions within her family, while Jack Branning faces blackmail from Harry.
EastEnders airs on BBC One from Monday to Thursday at 7:30 pm, with early releases on BBC iPlayer.
