Eisenberg and Jones Shine at 2025 Academy Awards

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Jesse Eisenberg, an Oscar veteran, arrived at the Academy Awards tonight not just as an actor but as a nominee for Best Original Screenplay. His film, which centers on two cousins traveling through Poland on a Holocaust tour, features Eisenberg alongside Kieran Culkin, who is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Eisenberg expressed his apprehension about tackling such a sensitive topic. “For me, even to make a movie about this topic was worrying, and so I just tried to treat it with the most realistic approach I could possibly take,” he said. He emphasized the importance of portraying the characters’ ambivalence regarding their ancestral history, adding, “Tell the story of these two characters who have ambivalent feelings about history, who have ambivalent feelings about their own pain versus the pain of their ancestors.”

Walking the red carpet solo, Eisenberg was clad in a classic suit and displayed a calm demeanor before the ceremony. Meanwhile, the film has garnered significant attention not just for Eisenberg’s writing but also for Culkin’s performance, making them both strong contenders this year.

Jones reflected on her decade-long journey in the film industry, stating, “I feel as though I’ve been through a lot personally. … When you work on something, it really has to count.”
