LOS ANGELES, California — Fans of The Elder Scrolls VI expressed disappointment after the recent Xbox Games Showcase failed to provide any new information about the highly anticipated game. The title was originally announced by Bethesda during E3 2018, and as of now, no updates have been shared for about seven years.

Struggling with their patience, fans took to social media to vent their frustrations. One Reddit user, JojotheBoy26, wrote, “Another year with no The Elder Scrolls VI update. Consider me a sad sorcerer.” Others echoed similar sentiments, lamenting the absence of game updates. The showcase also did not include announcements about other anticipated titles like Halo or Fable; gamers left feeling deflated.

Bethesda Game Studios has been focused on other projects, particularly the recent release of Starfield. Xbox boss Phil Spencer teased a lineup for 2026 that did not mention The Elder Scrolls VI, raising concerns that the next game in the series may not arrive until at least 2027. This detail adds to the uncertainty surrounding the game’s future.

The showcase showcased many reveals, yet fans were still hoping for a hint regarding The Elder Scrolls VI. Instead, they were greeted with minor updates related to The Elder Scrolls Online. “We got fishing in Fallout 76 and Worm Cult with mohawk kitty in The Elder Scrolls Online,” commented a disappointed gamer named Lymiss.

Despite no new details, some fans remain hopeful for a future reveal. Ryohazuki91 suggested that they could forgive Bethesda for the lack of updates this year since they received a remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Amid the ongoing wait, gamers can still replay previous entries like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. While fans are anxious for news, it seems they may have to wait a while longer before more information is released about The Elder Scrolls VI.
