Elon Musk Joins Calls to Cancel Netflix Over Controversial Cartoon

NEW YORK CITY — Billionaire Elon Musk has entered the growing debate over a Netflix cartoon aimed at children, joining calls to cancel the streaming service. This comes after the creator of the animated series, ‘Dead End: Paranormal Park,’ allegedly made derogatory comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk following his death.
The Netflix series has faced backlash after being flagged by the conservative account Libs of TikTok. The tweet shared a clip from the show featuring a blue-haired character coming out as transgender to another character, alarming some parents. Musk, who saw the clip, responded, saying, ‘This is not ok.’
The situation escalated when purported screenshots emerged of Hamish Steele, the show’s creator, using offensive language to criticize Kirk and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for publicly mourning him. Steele allegedly called Kirk a ‘Nazi’ after his death, which ignited further controversy and renewed calls from some conservative figures to cancel their Netflix subscriptions.
On the day Kirk died, Starmer expressed his condolences, stating, ‘It is heartbreaking that a young family has been robbed of a father and a husband.’ He emphasized the importance of open debate and denounced political violence. In response, Steele purportedly questioned Starmer’s empathy towards victims of violence, igniting further outrage online.
While Steele later claimed he did not celebrate Kirk’s death, he insisted that accusations against him were false and that Netflix is not currently promoting the series. In a comment responding to a user announcing their intention to cancel Netflix, Musk simply replied, ‘Same.’
‘Dead End: Paranormal Park’ aired for two seasons on Netflix, concluding in 2022. Fox News Digital reached out to both Steele and Netflix for comment but did not receive an immediate answer.
