Emilia Clarke Regrets Not Taking Game of Thrones Souvenirs

LOS ANGELES, CA – Emilia Clarke, famously known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen on HBO‘s ‘Game of Thrones,’ has expressed regret for not keeping any memorabilia from the show after its impressive eight-season run.
In an interview with Regina Hall during Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors,’ Clarke revealed her disappointment. “I didn’t take anything, and I deeply regret it,” she said. “I’m really hoping that the showrunners give me a dragon. I need my smelly socks. I think I did take those,” she added, highlighting her desire for something to remember her iconic role.
Clarke mentioned that she particularly wanted to keep the dragon eggs that her character famously owned, but she never managed to get them. “I wanted to keep the eggs, dammit, but they weren’t giving them!” she lamented.
In contrast, her co-star Kit Harington, who portrayed Jon Snow, successfully obtained a statue of himself used for promotional purposes during the show’s final season. “They wouldn’t give me my sword, which I was very annoyed about, but I did keep a statue of myself. It’s big. That’s what I asked myself when I arrived, like, ‘what am I going to do with this?'” Harington joked, considering the statue’s future role in his home.
Clarke also shared her creative ideas for her potential souvenirs, reflecting on her time as the Mother of Dragons. Despite her lack of physical reminders from the series, she maintains a deep connection to the character and the story.
While discussing her experiences on the show, Clarke revealed another wish: she hoped her character would have had more exploration of her sexuality, including relationships with women. Sadly, this aspect was not realized in the script.
Ultimately, Clarke’s reflections underscore the complexities of her character’s journey and the emotional legacy of ‘Game of Thrones.’
