Emirates and flydubai Achieve 5 Million Joint Travelers Milestone

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, May 6, 2025 — Emirates and flydubai have set a new record, reaching 5 million travelers on their joint networks in the past year. The collaboration signifies a remarkable 36% increase in passengers compared to the previous year. This achievement follows more than seven years of coordinated efforts aimed at enhancing Dubai’s connectivity and supporting the city’s D33 vision to become a leading global economic hub.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, expressed pride in the partnership. “The Emirates and flydubai partnership has been a game-changer for both carriers. It has delivered more flight options and better experiences for travelers,” he said. He anticipates further growth in the future.

Since the partnership began in 2017, it has provided benefits to over 22 million customers using the combined networks. Initially serving 29 cities, the Emirates and flydubai route map has expanded to cover 240 destinations across more than 100 countries. This growth comes with enhanced airport services, including streamlined check-in and efficient baggage transfers.

Currently, travelers can choose from an average of 295 codeshare flights daily, which enhances their flexibility in scheduling. Additionally, flydubai operates over 330 weekly flights from Dubai’s Terminal 3 to various popular destinations such as Zanzibar and Kathmandu.

Both airlines are responding to robust demand for premium travel, seeing a 31% growth in high-end cabin bookings. Emirates expanded its destination list by introducing new flights to Bogota, Colombia, and Antananarivo, Madagascar, while flydubai announced 10 new cities including Antalya and Venice, aimed at capitalizing on summer travel.
