Epic Games Launches Weekly Free Games on Mobile Store

NEW YORK, March 20, 2025 — Epic Games has officially rolled out a new initiative that offers free games on its mobile platform every week, starting with the indie titles Super Meat Boy Forever and Eastern Exorcist. This weekly free game offering is set to expand the company’s digital storefront strategy, already popular on PC.
The announcement was made via a blog post, indicating that players can claim these games until March 27. While Super Meat Boy Forever will be available to all users, Eastern Exorcist may not be accessible in certain regions, though details on these limitations were not provided.
Since launching its mobile game store in September 2024, Epic Games has been building a robust selection, integrating popular titles like Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe. The addition of over 20 games from third-party developers showcases the company’s focus on tapping into the mobile gaming market, which continues to grow significantly.
“We are excited to offer more options for our players and give them the chance to experience new games for free,” said an Epic Games spokesperson. “Our goal is to create a diverse library that caters to a wide range of interests and preferences.”
This new weekly program follows the successful model established on the PC platform, where Epic Games has been providing free games every Thursday. The mobile users will be able to download the free games by installing the Epic Games Store app and logging into their accounts.
Super Meat Boy Forever offers an auto-runner gameplay style that differentiates it from the original title. Players guide Meat Boy and Bandage Girl as they navigate through dangerous levels to rescue their kidnapped child, Nugget. On the other hand, Eastern Exorcist presents a darker, 2D side-scrolling action RPG experience set against a backdrop inspired by Chinese folklore.
With a mix of genres available, including adventure and puzzle-solving games, Epic’s mobile library is expanding rapidly. Players who enjoy problem-solving challenges might find titles like Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead and Chicken Police: Paint the Town Red appealing.
To access the mobile app, iOS users must be in the European Union, while Android users worldwide can download it without restriction. Currently, the app also supports various Android-based emulation devices, giving users more flexibility in how they access their games.
As Epic continues to promote indie games that might otherwise go unnoticed, the company aims to foster a community where players are encouraged to explore new titles. Previous free offerings like Stardew Valley and games inspired by Animal Crossing have proven popular among fans of cozy gaming.
For players seeking to claim the latest titles, regular checks on the Epic Games Store could lead to discovering hidden gems within the rapidly evolving mobile storefront.
