Seattle, WA — Erica Wheeler recently shared her thoughts on her departure from the Indiana Fever, causing buzz on social media.

On June 8, Wheeler posted a message on X, stating, “…go where you’re appreciated and not tolerated!” This sparked speculation that she was referencing her recent move to the Seattle Storm this season.

However, Wheeler later clarified her tweet, adding humor to the situation. She wrote, “Ok guys this wasn’t a basketball tweet hahah! I am much appreciated in the basketball world!”

Wheeler also responded to a follower who referred to her move as “crazy.” She reminded the commenter to stay positive, saying, “Hahaha I am assuming you think my tweet was about basketball? Hahaha like take a break from being negative! It ages people very fast! I am not just a basketball ma’am or sir whoever you are hiding behind this account!”

Last season with the Fever, Wheeler averaged 3.6 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 rebounds in 14 minutes per game across 39 games. Since joining the Storm, she has significantly improved her performance, now averaging 9.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 21.9 minutes per game.
