Erin Andrews Defends Herself Against Online Trolls During NFL Game
LOS ANGELES, CA — Erin Andrews, a prominent sports broadcaster, recently pushed back against online trolls who criticized her during a live NFL broadcast. Andrews, who has been a successful sideline reporter for over a decade, reacted to a negative comment aimed not only at her but at her colleagues during a hot match this season.
The incident occurred during a game in sweltering heat, where temperatures soared near 100 degrees. A fan commented on Andrews’ appearance, stating she had a ‘glow.’ In response to the remark, she revealed on the ‘Calm Down‘ podcast with her co-host, Thompson, that she quipped back, ‘It’s called sweat,’ referring to the challenging outdoor conditions. Andrews humorously added, ‘…and I need a shower.’
The situation escalated when a troll responded to her message with ‘It’s hot flashes.’ This prompted a strong reaction from Andrews, who exclaimed, ‘Shut the – shut up! It’s outside for five hours, enough!’ Thompson supported her, stating, ‘Don’t worry about those losers, you just keep doing you.’ He acknowledged that while they encounter negative comments, Andrews only occasionally chooses to respond.
Andrews first rose to fame in 2004 while working at ESPN before joining FOX in 2012. This season, she has signed new contracts to secure her position beyond the 2025 NFL season, establishing her as a beloved figure in sports journalism.
