Ernie Els emerged victorious at the prestigious Principal Charity Classic held in Des Moines, Iowa, claiming his fourth career PGA Tour Champions win with a stellar performance.
The South African golf legend, aged 54, showcased his skill and determination by finishing with a remarkable 7-under 65 at the picturesque Wakonda Club, edging out defending champion Stephen Ames by a solid two-stroke margin.
Tied for the lead alongside Rod Pampling after the second round, Els displayed finesse on the course, securing an eagle on the par-5 15th hole and carding five birdies in a flawless final round.
Ames, who shot an impressive 66, continues to lead the tour with two victories this season, while veteran golfer Bernhard Langer put up a strong performance to tie for third at 17 under after carding a 68.
The leaderboard featured a competitive mix of talent, including David Duval, Vijay Singh, and Heath Slocum, all showcasing their skills at the tournament.
