Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan recently addressed the speculations surrounding her interaction with Home Minister Amit Shah. Clarifying the nature of their discussion, Soundararajan stated that they met to talk about post-election follow-up and challenges faced. She emphasized that Shah advised her to focus on intensifying her political and constituency work, reassuring her of his concerns.

The video capturing the exchange between Soundararajan and Shah went viral on social media platforms, stirring up rumors of discord within the BJP. Some reports had hinted at a possible conflict between Soundararajan and the current Tamil Nadu BJP President, K Annamalai, following the party’s underwhelming performance in the Lok Sabha elections.

Soundararajan had resigned as the governor of Telangana in March and had contested in the Chennai South Parliamentary constituency without success. The controversy surrounding her remarks and actions post-election drew attention to the dynamics within the Tamil Nadu BJP.

During the swearing-in ceremony of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the brief interaction between Shah and Soundararajan caught the public eye. In the video, Shah can be seen gesturing and discussing with Soundararajan, with other prominent leaders like Venkaiah Naidu, J P Nadda, and Nitin Gadkari present at the event.

Soundararajan’s statement post the viral video sought to dispel any notions of disagreements within the party, underlining the importance of focusing on party responsibilities and working diligently. Her clarification aimed to put to rest any unwarranted speculations and reaffirm her commitment to the BJP’s goals in Tamil Nadu.
