Escape Academy 2 Game Announcement

LOS ANGELES, CA – During the Day of the Devs digital showcase, iam8bit and Coin Crew Games unveiled Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School, a sequel to the original game, which attracted over four million players since its release in 2022. This new installment is set to redefine the escape room experience by introducing an expansive open-world campus filled with secrets, puzzles, and a rich narrative.

Unlike its predecessor, Escape Academy 2 allows players to explore various areas of a vibrant campus, including classrooms, dorms, and secret tunnels. Each section features unique challenges, traps, and opportunities for discovery. “The idea of an ‘open world escape room’ might sound like an oxymoron, but it works surprisingly well,” said Mike Mohammed Salyh, co-founder of Coin Crew Games. “Players can choose to focus on escape classes, delve into the school’s hidden history, or simply enjoy their time as students solving puzzles.”

The sequel promises both solo and cooperative gameplay, allowing players to enjoy the narrative alone or with friends either locally or online. Wyatt Bushnell, co-founder of Coin Crew Games, emphasized the immersive experience: “We’re opening up the campus to give players a deeply immersive experience—where escape rooms meet the challenges of everyday student life at the Academy.”

Back 2 School also introduces a new story filled with mystery, involving a decades-old conspiracy tied to the Academy’s founders. Players will uncover how these elements influence their adventures throughout the game.

As part of the announcement, the original Escape Academy is currently discounted by 60% on Steam, encouraging new players to jump into the series ahead of the sequel’s 2026 release.

“iam8bit and Coin Crew Games are innovating the escape room genre,” said Jon M. Gibson and Amanda White, co-owners of iam8bit. “We can’t wait to reveal more soon.”
