Espn Streaming Service Launch

BURBANK, Calif. — Walt Disney announced on Tuesday that its new streaming service, ESPN, will launch this fall at a price of $29.99 per month. The service aims to provide sports fans access to a vast library of sports programming without needing a traditional cable subscription.

ESPN’s streaming application will be bundled with Disney’s other services, Disney+ and Hulu, for a combined cost of $35.99 per month. Those who sign up during the launch will enjoy the bundle for $29.99 per month for the first year, offering a significant discount on the combined services.

This new offering will include access to all live games on ESPN networks, additional programming from ESPN2 and the SEC Network, fantasy sports products, betting tie-ins, documentaries, and more. ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro stated that this service will simplify the increasingly complex streaming landscape.

Currently, ESPN+ remains available at $11.99 per month and offers a limited selection of sports programming. The new ESPN service will include full coverage of popular events absent from the current ESPN+ package, such as “Monday Night Football.”

With the revamped ESPN mobile app, all users will have access to enhanced features like a personalized SportsCenter experience. Cable subscribers will also be able to authenticate their accounts to access premium digital features.

Pitaro expressed confidence in the new service, saying, “It’s going to redefine our business.” He noted that the familiarity and trust associated with the ESPN brand played a role in naming the service simply “ESPN.”

Furthermore, ESPN has announced a new alliance with Rich Eisen to bring “The Rich Eisen Show” to Disney+ and ESPN+ starting this fall, promising even more content options as the service evolves.
