Euphoria Star Sydney Sweeney Ventures Into Haunting Territory In 'immaculate'

In the upcoming psychological horror film ‘Immaculate‘, Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in the popular series ‘Euphoria’, takes on a haunting new character named Cecilia. Directed by Michael Mohan, the movie follows Cecilia, a devoutly religious woman, as she moves into a picturesque Italian convent in the countryside. The newly released trailer teases a storyline filled with suffering and mystery surrounding Cecilia’s mysterious pregnancy.

The trailer for ‘Immaculate’ features a sinister sonogram scene where Cecilia is told, ‘It’s a miracle. You are with child’. As she questions why she was chosen for this miracle, Cecilia soon discovers the convent to be an unsafe place, facing violent forces that come after her. The trailer promises a thrilling blend of blood, jump scares, and religious iconography.

‘Immaculate’ not only showcases Sweeney’s talent on-screen but also her skills behind the scenes as she produces the film. The cast includes other notable actors such as Álvaro Morte, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli, Simona Tabasco, Benedetta Porcaroli, and Giampiero Judica. The script was penned by Andrew Lobel.

This role in ‘Immaculate’ is a departure from Sweeney’s recent theatrical release, the sun-drenched rom-com ‘Anyone But You’, where she stars opposite Glen Powell in a fake-dating scheme. Sweeney is also set to appear in the upcoming Marvel film ‘Madame Web‘, scheduled for release in February.

Sweeney has previously worked with ‘Immaculate’ director Michael Mohan on the Netflix coming-of-age series ‘Everything Sucks!’, where Mohan served as co-creator and Sweeney was part of the main cast. The series, which takes place in the 1990s, delves into the complexities of teenage life.

Watch the thrilling trailer for ‘Immaculate’ below and prepare for an intense and haunting experience in theaters on March 22.
