BASSEL, Switzerland – The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 took place on Thursday night at the St. Jakobshalle arena, with 16 acts competing for a spot in Saturday’s grand final. Hosts Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer guided viewers through the event.

From the 16 acts that performed, only ten would qualify for the grand final. The semi-final featured performances from three automatic qualifiers: the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, who did not compete for a final slot.

The acts that qualified for the grand final included:

  2. Montenegro: Nina Žižić – Dobrodošli
  3. Ireland: EMMY – Laika Party
  4. Latvia: Tautumeitas – Bur Man Laimi
  5. Armenia: PARG – SURVIVOR
  6. Austria: JJ – Wasted Love
  7. Greece: Klavdia – Asteromáta
  8. Lithuania: Katarsis – Tavo Akys
  9. Malta: Miriana Conte – SERVING
  10. Georgia: Mariam Shengelia – Freedom
  11. Denmark: Sissal – Hallucination
  12. Czechia: Adonxs – Kiss Kiss Goodbye
  13. Luxembourg: Laura Thorn – La Poupée Monte Le Son
  14. Israel: Yuval Raphael – New Day Will Rise
  15. Serbia: Princ – Mila
  16. Finland: Erika Vikman – ICH KOMME

Following the semi-final, each qualifier and automatic finalist will draw their position in the grand final. They may choose a slot in the first or second half or receive “producer’s choice,” allowing organizers to place them wherever they want.

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest emphasizes fan participation, highlighted by a segment featuring long-time fan Philip, who shared his excitement and experiences. The show concluded with a suspenseful reveal of the qualifiers and an emotional performance by Swiss singer Sandra Studer.

The Grand Final is set for Saturday, May 17, 2025, promising a spectacular conclusion to this year’s competition.
