Exciting Weekend Events in Hamilton
This weekend in Hamilton promises a variety of exciting events for residents and visitors alike. From the Winona Peach Festival to the unique dance event 73 ‘Til Infinity, there is something for everyone.
The Winona Peach Festival, located at Winona Park, 1328 Barton St. E, is set to begin Friday evening and run through Sunday afternoon. The festival will feature numerous rides, games for children of all ages, and a substantial arts and crafts section with over 75 local crafters. Additionally, more than 100 vendors will offer various products in the commercial exhibits area. Admission to the festival is free, and visitors can enjoy a range of entertaining performances throughout the event.
On Saturday, Triple C Farm, located at 500 Carluke Rd. W. in Ancaster, will host a Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-friendly event includes a variety of free entertainment such as educational tours, character meet-and-greets, and fun lawn games, all for an entry fee of $10.
For those interested in nature, the Dundurn National Historic Site at 610 York Blvd. will be running free nature-based activities for children in Sophia’s Garden on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Young visitors can participate in hands-on activities that allow them to interact with plants, animals, and insects.
A highlight of the weekend is the free event 73 ‘Til Infinity, which combines elements of dance and community celebration. Taking place in the car park at Wilson Street and James Street North on Friday night from 7 to 8 p.m., this event features performances, cyphers, and live music, all curated by Josh Taylor and Defining Movement Dance.
For those looking for a musical experience, an Abba-themed dance party will be hosted at HWT Patio, 57 Discovery Dr., on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. This event is free and includes food and treat vendors, along with live performances, and is designed for all ages.
On the same day, a vintage market featuring local vendors will be held at the same location, with music provided by DJ Mar Sanchez. This market is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Additionally, at Levity Comedy Club & Lounge, a magic show featuring Matt Disero, known for his appearance on Penn & Teller’s Fool Us, will take place at 8 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 plus HST.
For those interested in the arts, the Art Gallery of Hamilton will be hosting an artist talk on Sunday for the exhibit by Mohawk artist General, highlighting the identity and works from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory.
