Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Look at Mel Gibson’s ‘Flight Risk’ Thriller
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — As the January 24 theatrical release of Mel Gibson‘s action thriller “Flight Risk” approaches, exclusive behind-the-scenes images have surfaced, offering a glimpse into the high-stakes production. The film, starring Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery, and Topher Grace, is set to hit theaters later this month.
Directed by Gibson and scripted by Jared Rosenberg, “Flight Risk” follows a pilot (Wahlberg) transporting an Air Marshal (Dockery) and a fugitive (Grace) across the Alaskan wilderness. As tensions rise, the film explores themes of trust and deception, with not everyone on board being who they seem.
Gibson, known for his work on “Braveheart” and “Hacksaw Ridge,” produced the film alongside John Davis, John Fox, and Bruce Davey. The project is a collaboration between Lionsgate, Media Capital Technologies, Hammerstone Studios, Icon Productions, and Davis Entertainment Company.
In a recent statement, Gibson expressed his enthusiasm for the project and his hopes for future endeavors, including directing “Lethal Weapon 5.” “Richard Donner, who did the other four, sadly passed away,” Gibson said. “He was a good friend, and he kind of tasked me with carrying the flag home on that one. It’ll be an honor for me to do that.”
The film’s synopsis promises a suspenseful journey, with Wahlberg’s character navigating the treacherous Alaskan terrain while grappling with the moral complexities of his passengers. The supporting cast includes Michelle Dockery, best known for her role in “Downton Abbey,” and Topher Grace, who gained fame through “That '70s Show.”
As anticipation builds, fans and critics alike are eager to see if “Flight Risk” will live up to its potential. With a star-studded cast and a seasoned director at the helm, the film is poised to be a standout entry in the thriller genre.
