Explore Global Cultures at Passport DC Embassy Tour This Weekend

WASHINGTON – This weekend marks the annual Passport DC, inviting the public to explore the diverse cultures of over 60 embassies in the nation’s capital. The event begins on May 3 with the ‘Around the World Embassy Tour,’ featuring non-European Union embassies.

From 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., embassies will showcase their nations’ unique food, music, and arts. Participating countries include China, Ukraine, Mexico, and many others from continents such as Asia, Africa, and South America.

Jennifer Delgado, a reporter from FOX 5, highlighted some highlights of the event. Visitors can experience traditional dances, try regional dishes, and partake in hands-on crafts for all ages. Many embassies will also offer food samples, cultural performances, and informative exhibits.

On May 10, European Union embassies will join the tour, expanding the reach to countries like France, Germany, and Italy. Each embassy acts as a window to a different world, celebrating the vast cultural tapestry of our global society.

Attendees are encouraged to start at a nearby information booth where they can pick up a souvenir passport for collecting stamps as they visit each location. Popular starting points include the Dupont Circle and Van Ness Metro stations, with the Dupont Circle area being busier.
