Fans Concerned as Sheinelle Jones Takes Time Off for Family Health Matter

New York, NY — Sheinelle Jones, cohost of NBC‘s TODAY show, has not appeared on air recently, prompting concern among her fans regarding her health. Jones shared through social media that she is taking time off to address a family health issue.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jones expressed her gratitude to fans who reached out during her absence. ‘Hi everybody. I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I have been absent from the show,’ she wrote. ‘I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter.’
Craig Melvin, her cohost on TODAY, provided an update about Jones during a recent segment. ‘I just talked to her a few days ago; as you know, she’s taking some time to be with her family,’ Melvin said. ‘We talk to her all the time, and … we love our girl, and it’s been nice to see how much everyone else loves her too.’ He added that all of NBC is praying for her.
Jones, originally from Philadelphia, began her career at WICS in Illinois and later worked at KOKI-TV in Oklahoma. She returned to Philadelphia to cohost FOX Philadelphia‘s Good Day Philadelphia. In 2014, she joined NBC as a part-time host before becoming cohost of TODAY’s third hour in January 2019. She also hosts a nature show on the network.
