Fans Split Over Priyanka Chopra’s New Trailer for Heads of State

New Delhi, India – Priyanka Chopra‘s latest film, Heads of State, has generated mixed reactions after its trailer was released on April 25, 2025. The film features Chopra as MI6 agent Noel Bisset, who is on a mission to thwart a global conspiracy.
The trailer shows a dramatic opening with the US President, played by John Cena, and the UK Prime Minister, played by Idris Elba, facing danger during a mid-air attack. Chopra’s character makes a heroic entry, taking down gunmen and declaring there is no backup for their plan. This initial scene sets the tone for their urgent collaboration.
Though some fans praised Chopra’s portrayal, others expressed concerns about her being typecast in similar action roles. Some pointed out that she has previously played characters like Alex Parish in Quantico and Nadia Sinh in Citadel. Online discussions reflected a sentiment that Chopra deserves more diverse and emotionally complex roles, particularly from her Bollywood roots.
A user on Reddit voiced disappointment, stating, “This is the most boring trailer I have seen in a while. It seems Hollywood has become similar to Bollywood with weak stories and a focus on star power.” Another user echoed this by suggesting Chopra is underutilized in Hollywood, comparing it to her successful time in Bollywood.
In contrast, some vocal fans are eager to see Chopra return to meaningful roles in India. One user on X (formerly Twitter) appealed to filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, yearning for a return to her acclaimed performances in movies like Barfi! and 7 Khoon Maaf.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller, Heads of State is set to premiere on Prime Video on July 2, 2025, and also stars Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, and Jack Quaid. Fans await to see if this new role will showcase a different side of Chopra’s talent.
