Final Destination: Bloodlines Set to Hit Theaters May 16, 2025
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The first logo for the latest installment in the Final Destination franchise, titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, was revealed on social media today. The film, set to premiere in theaters on May 16, 2025, marks the first entry in the series since 2011.
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, with a screenplay by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, the movie stars Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones, Rya Kihlstedt, Tinpo Lee, Luan Gallagher, and Tony Todd in one of his final roles. The franchise, known for its high-stakes death sequences, has grossed over $660 million worldwide across its five previous films.
The newly unveiled logo emphasizes the release date, but details about the plot remain scarce. The film is confirmed to be a sequel, not a prequel or remake. Fans speculate that the first trailer could debut around the Super Bowl or ahead of The Wolf Man, which opens in theaters this Friday, January 19, 2025.
Final Destination: Bloodlines continues the series’ tradition of exploring themes of fate and mortality. The original 2000 film, starring Devon Sawa, introduced audiences to the concept of characters cheating death only to face increasingly elaborate and gruesome demises. While the sequels never quite matched the critical acclaim of the first film, the franchise has maintained a dedicated fan base.
Tony Todd, who reprises his role as the mysterious William Bludworth, shared his excitement about the project. “It’s an honor to return to this iconic series,” Todd said. “The team has crafted something truly special for the fans.”
With production wrapped and the release date locked in, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling addition to the horror genre. Final Destination: Bloodlines will open in theaters nationwide on May 16, 2025.
