Final Destination: Bloodlines Set for May 2025 Release Despite Delays
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The sixth installment in the Final Destination franchise, titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, is set to hit theaters on May 16, 2025, despite numerous production delays. The film, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, has completed its score, as revealed by composer Tim Wynn on Instagram.
Wynn shared an image of the film’s official logo, featuring bold letters with blood splatter, alongside a caption: “That’s a wrap. Looking forward to this being released in the theaters this May. Grateful to be a part of this amazing team.” The post also included a behind-the-scenes look at the editing room during the final stages of post-production.
Final Destination: Bloodlines has faced several challenges since its announcement in January 2019. Originally slated to begin production in July 2023 in Vancouver, the project was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming eventually took place between March 4 and May 13, 2024, under cinematographer Christian Sebaldt. The cast, including Teo Briones, Brec Bassinger, and horror legend Tony Todd, was revealed during this period.
The film, written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, continues the franchise’s signature premise: a group of individuals narrowly escape death after one person foresees a catastrophic event, only to be hunted down by an unseen force. The franchise, created by Jeffrey Reddick, has grossed over $665 million worldwide, making it one of New Line Cinema‘s most successful horror series.
Final Destination 5, released in 2011, earned nearly $158 million globally, slightly less than its predecessor’s $186 million. The upcoming installment aims to revive the franchise’s legacy, with Jon Watts, known for Spider-Man: No Way Home, serving as producer.
Fans of the series can expect a mix of suspense, supernatural elements, and intricate death sequences when Final Destination: Bloodlines premieres next year.
