First Look At Stitch In Lilo & Stitch Remake

Disney recently gave fans a sneak peek at Stitch, the beloved alien from the animated classic Lilo & Stitch, in a live-action remake set to hit theaters in summer 2025.

This exciting first look was revealed during the Walt Disney Pictures panel at the D23 fan event. In the teaser, Stitch dramatically bursts through the screen, setting the stage for the film’s release.

Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, known for Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, this new adaptation will tell the story of Lilo, an orphaned girl, and her bond with Stitch, an alien created to be a force of destruction.

The screenplay was penned by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, based on an earlier draft by Mike Van Waes. The movie will be produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich for Rideback, with Ryan Halprin serving as executive producer.

Returning to voice Stitch is Chris Sanders, who voiced the character in the original film. The film will feature newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo, while Sydney Elizabeth Agudong will portray Nani, Lilo’s older sister. Kaipo Dudoit takes the role of Nani’s love interest, David Kawena.

Fans of the original series will be happy to know that Tia Carrere and Amy Hill will also make appearances, playing new characters in this version. Carrere will take on the role of Mrs. Kekoa, while Hill will play a character named Tūtū.

The cast is packed with talent, including Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis. While the exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, Disney has two dates scheduled for untitled projects next summer: May 23 and August 8.
