Downton Abbey The Grand Finale Trailer

LOS ANGELES, CA — Focus Features has released the first trailer for “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale,” marking the conclusion of the popular franchise that began with the ITV series in 2010. Scheduled to hit theaters on September 12, the film takes place in 1930 and follows Lady Mary, played by Michelle Dockery, as she navigates London high society while Lord and Lady Grantham, portrayed by Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern, oversee their Yorkshire estate.

This film serves as the third installment in the “Downton Abbey” trilogy and closes out a 15-year saga that includes six seasons of the hit television series. Director Simon Curtis, who helmed the previous film, “Downton Abbey: A New Era,” returns to lead the cast in this final chapter with a screenplay from series creator Julian Fellowes.

Alongside Dockery, Bonneville, and McGovern, familiar faces from the franchise will return, including Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Phyllis Logan, and Penelope Wilton. New actors joining the cast include Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan.

Excitement for the film is high after the successful release of the first two films, with the preliminary footage having made its debut at CinemaCon earlier this year. The first “Downton Abbey” movie grossed an impressive $194 million worldwide after its release in 2019, followed by “A New Era” in 2022.

“Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” promises an emotional farewell to the beloved Grantham family as fans anticipate the storyline to wrap up after years of devotion. Watch the trailer to get a glimpse of what to expect in this final outing.
