FirstEnergy Appoints Michael Auseré as New VP of Financial Planning

AKRON, Ohio, May 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — FirstEnergy Corp. has announced the appointment of Michael Auseré as Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, effective June 2.
Auseré will manage the company’s long-range planning and budgeting processes, reporting directly to Jon Taylor, the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Taylor emphasized Auseré’s importance in driving the company’s growth, stating, “Michael will be instrumental in working across our major businesses to develop a financial plan that will drive FirstEnergy’s continued growth and success.”
With over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, Auseré joins FirstEnergy from Eversource Energy, where he was Vice President of Business Development. He previously held the role of Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Eversource, overseeing budgeting and long-range planning for utilities serving 4 million customers across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Auseré’s background includes multiple financial positions at Energy Future Holdings, a Dallas-based energy firm. He began his career in public accounting at PwC, where he audited multinational energy companies and advised on mergers and securities transactions.
He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant. FirstEnergy serves over 6 million customers across six states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York.
