Firstenergy Pennsylvania Rate Changes 2024

FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company has announced significant changes to its electric service rates, effective December 1, 2024. These changes are outlined in Supplement No. 11 to Electric Pa P.U.C. No. 1, which was issued on October 16, 2024. The supplement details modifications to the Price to Compare Default Service Rate Rider and the Hourly Pricing Default Service Rider.

The Price to Compare Default Service Rate Rider rates have been adjusted and increased. These rates will be applied to each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of default service delivered to customers and will vary by customer class, including residential, commercial, and other service categories. For the period from December 1, 2024, through May 31, 2025, the new rates will be calculated according to the provisions of the rider.

In addition to the rate changes, the Hourly Pricing Default Service Rider rates have also been modified, with some rates increasing and others decreasing. These changes are part of the company’s ongoing efforts to manage and adjust its pricing structures in response to market conditions and operational costs.

FirstEnergy serves a large customer base across Pennsylvania, and these rate changes will impact various customer segments. The company has provided detailed information on the new rates and the calculation methods in the supplement to ensure transparency and clarity for its customers).
